What does Wellness really mean?
Wellness is a practice.
It is a combination of many practices to feel happy, healthy, whole and excited about life, balanced with being able to face the more challenging times with tools, support and balance.
It is a practice, and so it is something we have to keep re-assessing and going back to. It is unique to all of us, what keeps someone well may not work for someone else, but there are some common, basic themes which benefit all of us.
I call these the wellness basics.
1) Good quality sleep and rest.
2) Nourishing and regular food and mealtimes.
3) Outdoor exercise.
4) Supportive relationships and friendships.
5) Rewarding work or community involvement.
